Post Surgical Care

Ward rounds take place every morning by a team of doctors and a ward nurse. They will review your daily recovery, look at your observations and blood levels, check your wound and your breast and wound drainage. Any questions you may have will be answered and decisions will be made “for the day”, e.g. when to take the catheter out, remove the drains. Additionally your drugs chart and levels of medication will be checked.

Your surgeon may call in at any time to oversee how you are progressing and, like the ward round team, offer reassurance.
