Surgeons who carry out breast reconstructions may be plastic surgeons, breast cancer surgeons or more recently oncoplastic surgeons who may be able to carry out some, though not all, reconstructive surgery

Some operations need surgeons who are skilled in microsurgery which is a very specialised technique. For these more complex procedures a reconstructive plastic surgeon is needed.

We at Crazy Hats first began our support for plastic surgery at Leicester Royal Infirmary as many ladies from the Northampton area have to travel to Leicester for the more specialist procedures where there are skilled reconstructive plastic surgeons and excellent follow-up systems in place.

We are delighted that certain breast reconstruction procedures can now be performed at Northampton and Kettering General Hospitals.
